LP: Bassitt 1-1 / 4.80

Prospect Of The Game:

Outfielder Dustin Fowler

(4 for 5 / Triple / Double / 2 RBIs / Stolen Base)

Despite the fact that the Sounds suffered a severe beating at the hands of the Sky Sox in Colorado Springs, Nashville center fielder Dustin Fowler still turned in the most impressive performance by an A’s prospect on Monday. Just one day after tallying 3 hits for the Sounds, Fowler came back to collect 4 hits, including a triple and a double, while driving in a pair of runs and notching his team-leading 6th stolen base, and the 23-year-old is now batting .309 for Nashville. RHP Chris Bassitt struggled mightily in his first start of the season for the Sounds, surrendering 7 runs over 2 innings of work to suffer the loss, but RHP Raul Alcantara struggled even more, giving up 7 runs in just 2/3 of an inning in relief. Position players Slade Heathcott and Steve Lombardozzi both pitched an inning in relief, with Heathcott tossing a scoreless 7th and Lombardozzi allowing 1 run in the 8th in the loss. Meanwhile, RHP Kendall Graveman is set to make his first start for the Sounds this season on Tuesday.
