Max Muncy, making his 5th appearance of the season at third base, had a big night for Midland on Friday, reaching base in all 4 trips to the plate – on a walk, a single, a double and a home run. He also stole a base and drove in 4 runs for the RockHounds. The performance raised Muncy’s batting average to .320, fifth-best in the Texas League, and his on-base percentage to .447, which is second-best in the league. Hiroyuki Nakajima, making his debut for Midland, started at second base and went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in a run. RHP Nate Long had another solid start, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits over 4 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Blake Hassebrock picked up the win despite allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits in 2 1/3 innings of relief for the RockHounds.

Starter Marcus Walden had a shaky start for Sacramento on Friday, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings to take the loss, while RHPs Deryk Hooker and Fernando Nieve combined to give up another 7 runs in relief. First baseman Nate Freiman singled and slugged his 2nd home run of the year, a 2-run shot, while outfielder Jake Goebbert doubled in a run, and shortstop Andy Parrino and third baseman Alden Carrithers had a pair of hits apiece for the River Cats.

Starter Seth Streich had a rare rough outing for Stockton on Friday, allowing 7 runs, 5 earned, on 10 hits over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss, but LHP Omar Duran was impressive in relief, striking out 5 in 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. The Ports managed just 4 hits in the game. Third baseman Renato Nunez, shortstop Daniel Robertson and designated hitter Dusty Robinson each singled, while outfielder Aaron Shipman tripled in the loss.
MIDWEST LEAGUE (Class-A)

RHP Lou Trivino had a rocky outing for the Snappers on Friday, initially striking out 6 over 4 scoreless innings before things took a turn for the worse, and he eventually ended up allowing 5 runs while striking out 8 over 6 2/3 innings to take his 3rd loss. Hot-hitting outfielder Herschel Powell had 4 hits, including a double, to raise his batting average to .380, while also swiping his 7th base. Shortstop Luis Baez and outfielder Tyler Marincov each singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Snappers.
