Starter Bruce Billings had a rough outing for the River Cats, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss on Monday. Second baseman Jemile Weeks had a pair of hits and walked, while outfielder Michael Choice doubled and walked, and third baseman Dusty Coleman went 0 for 4 in his debut after getting called up to take Daric Barton’s place on the River Cats roster. Barton was recalled by the A’s to replace right fielder Josh Reddick, who was placed on the disabled list. RHP Evan Scribner was also recalled by the A’s after the team designated RHP Pat Neshek for assignment.

Starter Zach Neal allowed 3 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings of work and left with the game tied, but RHP Nate Long gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief to take the loss. Third baseman Jefry Marte singled and drove in 2 of Midland’s 3 runs in the game, while designated hitter Vinnie Catricala had a pair of hits, and catcher Diomedes Lopez went 1 for 4 in his debut for the RockHounds. Lopez was promoted to Midland to take the place of catcher Ryan Lipkin, who was placed on the disabled list. Meanwhile, RHP Mike De Mark was activated from the disabled list to take Dusty Coleman’s place on the RockHounds roster after the infielder was elevated to Sacramento.

RHP Raul Alcantara had another solid start for Stockton, allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Monday. The Ports managed just 3 hits in the game, one apiece by designated hitter Antonio Lamas, outfielder Myrio Richard and shortstop Addison Russell.

RHP Dylan Covey had a shaky start for the Snappers, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 8 hits over 4 innings of work, while RHP Nolan Sanburn picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Vince Voiro got the final 3 outs for his 3rd save. First baseman Matt Olson singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, while second baseman Chris Bostick had a pair of hits, and third baseman Renato Nunez singled home the go-ahead run in the 6th inning for the Snappers.
