LHP Carlos Hernandez earned his 1st win in his 3rd start for Sacramento, allowing 4 runs, just 2 earned, over 6 innings of work on Sunday. Outfielder Michael Taylor collected 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, while designated hitter Michael Choice and first baseman Anthony Aliotti each had 2 hits and drove in a pair of runs for the River Cats. Third baseman Daric Barton left the game in the 3rd inning, presumably just in case Josh Reddick’s sprained wrist lands him on the disabled list and Barton needs to be called upon by the A’s.

Second baseman Tyler Ladendorf singled and scored in the 3rd inning to put the RockHounds on the board, homered with 2 outs in the 7th to tie the game, and walked and scored in the 12th to help the Hounds win on Sunday. Starter Murphy Smith had a strong outing, allowing 2 runs on just 2 hits over 7 innings of work and left with the game tied, while RHP Brett Hunter struck out 3 over the last 2 innings to pick up his 2nd win.

Designated hitter Myrio Richard hit a 2-run homer, while third baseman B.A. Vollmuth singled, doubled and drove in 2 runs, outfielder Bobby Crocker had 2 hits and drove in a run, and catcher Bruce Maxwell drove in a pair for the Ports.

Shortstop Daniel Robertson had a big day at the plate, slugging his 8th and 9th home runs for the Snappers. RHP Kyle Finngean, was solid in his first start for Beloit since being promoted from Vermont. The A’s 6th-round draft pick this year allowed 2 runs over 5 innings to earn his 1st win for the Snappers.

RHP Cristhian Perez struggled in his first start for Vermont since being promoted from the Arizona League. The 21-year-old allowed 5 runs over just 3 innings of work to take the loss, while RHP Bobby Wahl, the A’s 5th-round draft pick this year, had his roughest outing so far this season, giving up 5 runs in just 1 1/3 innings of relief. Outfielder B.J. Boyd singled, homered, walked twice and drove in 2 runs, while second baseman Melvin Mercedes singled, doubled, stole a base and drove in a pair for the Lake Monsters.
