Designated hitter Shane Peterson had a perfect night at the plate, collecting 5 hits in 5 at-bats, and driving in 4 runs, including the tying run in the 4th inning for the River Cats. Peterson’s great game overshadowed Anthony Aliotti’s fine performance. The first baseman had 4 hits, including a triple, and drove in 3 runs in the win. LHP Brett Anderson started the game and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks over 2 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Arnold Leon allowed 3 runs in 5 innings of relief to pick up his 3rd win for the River Cats.

Second Baseman Tyler Ladendorf

Second baseman Tyler Ladendorf singled, tripled, walked and drove in 4 runs, including the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning for the RockHounds. Starter Drew Granier had another shaky outing on Saturday, allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, on 7 hits over 4 1/3 innings of work. But Midland maintained a 5-run lead heading into the 9th inning, until RHP Ryan Dull gave up 5 runs, 2 earned, in the top of the 9th to tie the game. After the getting the final out in the top of the 9th, RHP Brett Hunter picked up the win thanks to Ladendorf’s game-winning single in the bottom of the 9th.

After posting 2 home runs and 9 RBIs on Friday night, first baseman Tony Thompson continued his hot hitting on Saturday, collecting 3 hits, including his 17th home run, and driving in 4 runs. Outfielder Bobby Crocker had 3 hits as well, including a pair of doubles for the Ports. Starter Tanner Peters struck out 12 but gave up 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings of work to take his 6th loss on Saturday.

Outfielder John Wooten collected 3 hits and homered for the second straight night on Saturday. Starter Andres Avila allowed 6 runs, just 2 earned, over 4 2/3 innings of work and ended up taking his 4th loss for Beloit. Third baseman Renato Nunez made his organization-leading 32nd and 33rd errors for the Snappers on Saturday.

11th-round draft pick Lou Trivinol had another solid outing on Saturday, tossing 5 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win, while RHP Tyler Johnson got the final 6 outs for his 2nd save. First baseman Ryan Huck singled, doubled and walked twice, while outfielder Jaycob Brugman had a pair of hits, stole a base and drove in the only run of the game for Vermont.
