Wednesday, September 2nd: Devin Taylor’s 2 HRs Lead Vegas to Victory

Right fielder Devin Taylor pounded a pair of home runs to lead Las Vegas to its second straight victory over El Paso on Wednesday. Last year’s 2^nd-round draft pick for the A’s socked a solo shot in the 3^rd inning to put the Aviators on the board and slugged a grand slam in the top of the 4^th to tie the game. After El Paso took the lead back in the bottom of the 4^th, he then singled in the tying and go-ahead runs for Las Vegas in the 5^th. Taylor also singled in the 1^st but was left stranded, and he’s now 6 for 10 since his promotion to Triple-A and currently leads all minor leaguers with 155 hits and 22 home runs this season. Third baseman Colby Halter singled, homered, stole a base and drove in 3 runs, while left fielder Johnathan Rodriguez had 3 doubles and drove in 3 runs, and shortstop Jack Winkler singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored twice. Starter Ryan Magdic surrendered 7 runs through 4 frames, while RHP Seth Johnson tossed 2/3 of a scoreless inning in relief to pick up the win, and LHP Drew Rom notched the final four outs for the Aviators to secure the save.
