First baseman Luke Mann pounded a pair of home runs for the second straight night, but Midland still managed to fall to Amarillo on Friday. The 26-year-old infielder tagged a two-run tater in the top of the 4th inning to tie the game and then slugged a solo shot in the 9th to bring the RockHounds back within two runs. Mann has now gone 10 for 16 with 6 home runs in his last 4 games for Midland. Right fielder Devin Taylor went 3 for 5 with a home run, drew a walk, drove in a pair and stole a base, while shortstop Bobby Boser homered, doubled, drew a walk and scored twice. Starter Corey Avant allowed 3 runs through 4 frames, while LHP Diego Barrera was charged with 4 runs in just 2/3 of an inning of relief to suffer the loss for Midland.
