RHP Steven Echavarria and center fielder Rodney Green helped lead Lansing to its third straight victory on Tuesday. The 20-year-old Echavarria turned in a solid start, allowing 4 hits and a walk while striking out 5 through a career-high 6 2/3 innings of work. Echavarria threw 90 pitches, 59 for strikes, and he left with the game a 2-2 tie. LHP Tucker Novotny allowed 1 run in 1 inning of relief, while RHP Ryan Brown picked up the win despite giving up a run in just 1/3 of an inning, and RHP Abel Mercedes notched the final three outs in the 9th to secure the save for Lansing. Center fielder Rodney Green tagged a tie-breaking three-run homer with two outs in the 8th inning, while designated hitter Nate Nankil doubled, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and drove in a pair. Second baseman Casey Yamauchi singled twice and walked, and right fielder Devin Taylor singled twice and scored twice for the Lugnuts.
