Second baseman Casey Yamauchi and RHP Steven Echavarria led Lansing to its third straight win on Wednesday. Yamauchi had a huge night at the plate, going 3 for 5 while pounding a pair of home runs, drilling a double, drawing a walk, driving in 6 runs and even stealing a base for the Lugnuts. 20-year-old RHP Steven Echavarria made the start and threw 5 scoreless frames while allowing just 1 hit, issuing 4 walks and notching 6 strikeouts to earn the win. RHP Gerlin Rosario gave up a run in the 6th inning, but RHP Jake Garland, LHP Jack Mahoney and RHP Darlin Pinales each threw 1 scoreless and hitless inning in relief to close out the two-hit victory for Lansing. Catcher Carlos Franco had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 3, while right fielder Pedro Pineda singled, doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice, and shortstop and leadoff hitter Bobby Boser doubled, drew a pair of walks, drove in a run and scored 4 runs for the Lugnuts. 22-year-old RHP Samuel Dutton, who was the A’s 10th-round pick last year, is set to make the start for Lansing on Thursday.

Las Vegas suffered an 11-inning walk-off loss to Sacramento on Wednesday. Starter Kade Morris gave up 4 runs through 5 frames, while LHP Ben Bowden and RHP Nick Anderson each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. RHP Tyler Ferguson allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work, and LHP Matt Krook allowed 3 unearned runs in extra innings to take the loss. Right fielder Colby Thomas singled twice, scored twice, drove in a run and was hit by a pair of pitches, while center fielder Henry Bolte tripled, walked, stole a base and drove in a run, and designated hitter Cade Marlowe doubled, drew a walk, stole a base and scored 3 runs in the loss.

Four home runs helped the RockHounds record their fourth win in five games this season on Wednesday. Third baseman Tommy White went 2 for 4 and got things going for the Hounds by tagging a two-run homer in the top of the 1st inning to give his team an early lead. Second baseman Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, left fielder Cameron Leary and designated hitter Brayan Buelvas all slugged solo shots for Midland. Starter Wei-En Lin allowed 1 run and issued 3 walks through 3 2/3 innings of work while throwing 74 pitches, 47 for strikes. LHP James Gonzalez threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, while RHP Shohei Tomioka got the final three outs to secure his 2nd save. LHP Jamie Arnold, last year’s top draft pick for the A’s, is set to make the start for Midland on Thursday.

Stockton suffered its fourth loss in its first five games of the season on Wednesday. 20-year-old RHP Josiah Romeo, the A’s 6th-round pick in 2024, had a rough start for Stockton and was charged with 8 runs in just 1 1/3 innings of work to take the loss. Shortstop Ali Camarillo and catcher Bryan Arendt both homered and drove in 3 runs, while center fielder Breyson Guedez and first baseman Cesar Gonzalez had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.
