Designated hitter Devin Taylor and right fielder Gavin Turley helped the Stockton Ports prevail over the Modesto Nuts for the second straight night on Saturday. Taylor, who was the A’s 2nd-round draft pick this year, singled, doubled twice, drew a walk, drove in a run, stole a base and scored 3 runs. And Taylor has now gone 8 for 20 with 7 walks and 9 runs scored over his last 6 games while posting an .810 OPS in 83 at-bats for the Ports this season. Turley, who was last year’s 4th-round pick for the A’s, singled twice, doubled, drew a walk and drove in 3 runs, and he’s now gone 10 for 26 with 4 extra-base hits and 9 RBIs over his last 6 games for Stockton. Center fielder Bobby Blandford singled twice, drew 3 walks and scored a run, while left fielder Rodney Green went 3 for 5 with a double, stole a base and scored a run, and catcher Dylan Fien and shortstop Bobby Boser had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. Starter Sam Stuhr was charged with 6 runs through 3 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Griffin Kirn allowed 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief and picked up the win, and LHP Riley Huge tossed a scoreless 9th to secure his 6th save for Stockton.
