LHP Domingo Robles helped pitch the ACL A’s to a shutout win in a strong rehab start on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Dominican southpaw, who’s been on the injured list for Las Vegas all season, threw 4 scoreless and hitless frames, issuing just 1 walk while notching 9 strikeouts, and he left with the game a scoreless tie. Robles threw 58 pitches, 41 for strikes, and he’s now allowed just 1 earned run in 9 innings of work during his 3 rehab appearances with the A’s. 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Roberto Urdaneta and 21-year-old Dominican RHP Camilo Hernandez each tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, with Hernandez finishing off the one-hit shutout and recording the win on Wednesday. Catcher Ben Newton singled and walked, while second baseman Shotaro Morii singled in the winning run and then ended up scoring another run for the A’s on a balk.
