LHP Gage Jump turned in another outstanding start and Midland’s lineup put double digits on the board for the second straight game to help the RockHounds register their eleventh win in their last thirteen games on Tuesday. Jump, who was last year’s compensation round pick for the A’s, allowed just 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8 in 6 shutout innings to record his 2nd win for the RockHounds. The 22-year-old southpaw threw 83 pitches, 51 for strikes, and he’s now tossed 12 scoreless innings while notching 14 strikeouts in a pair of starts since his promotion to Midland last week. Third baseman Luke Mann slugged a grand slam in the 2nd inning, singled twice and drove in 6 runs in the game, while right fielder Henry Bolte went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, drew a walk, drove in a run, scored 4 times and tallied his team-leading 16th stolen base, and designated hitter Colby Halter singled twice, walked twice, stole a base and scored 3 runs for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Midland RHP Luis Morales was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas and Lansing RHP Kyle Robinson was reassigned to the RockHounds on Tuesday.
