RHP Luis Morales turned in an outstanding start to help lead the RockHounds to their sixth straight win on Sunday. The 22-year-old Cuban righty allowed just 1 run on 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 11 to earn the win. Morales threw a total of 96 pitches, 61 for strikes, and he’s now compiled a 2.97 ERA while notching 45 strikeouts and allowing just 22 hits in 36 1/3 innings over his first 7 starts for Midland this season. LHP Colton Johnson and RHP Colin Peluse each tossed a scoreless inning in relief to complete the victory. Designated hitter Caeden Trenkle tripled, singled, walked twice and swiped a pair of bases, while second baseman Euribiel Angeles went 1 for 3 with a pair of walks, drove in a run and stole 3 bases. Right fielder Junior Perez singled, walked twice, stole a base and drove in a run, and third baseman Luke Mann slugged a solo shot for the RockHounds.
