On a day when all the A’s affiliates went down to defeat, shortstop Max Muncy turned in the top performance of the day. The former 1st-round pick collected 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in 3 runs. Muncy has been on fire in August, going 17 for 35 with 8 extra-base hits and 16 RBIs this month. Second baseman Nick Allen singled, doubled twice, drove in a run and swiped a pair of bases, while right fielder Colby Thomas tripled, walked and scored twice. First baseman Ryan Noda had 2 hits, including a double, and scored twice, and catcher Carlos Perez singled twice and drove in a run for the Aviators. Starter Hogan Harris had a rough outing, allowing 8 runs, 7 earned, over 4 2/3 frames to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. The other Max Muncy, who’s currently on a rehab assignment with Oklahoma City, went 1 for 5 in the game.
