Las Vegas shut out Salt Lake on just three hits to win its fourth straight on Tuesday. Designated hitter Jordan Diaz continued his hot hitting to lead the Aviators’ offensive attack. The 23-year-old Colombian slugger, who was just named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week, singled twice, socked a pair of home runs and drove in 4 runs on the night. Diaz has now drilled 6 homers in his last 5 games and leads the squad with 19 home runs while slashing .311/.376/.564 in 78 games for Las Vegas this season. Cooper Bowman, starting his second game in center field, doubled, drew a walk and scored a run, while second baseman Nick Allen doubled and scored twice. RHP Joe Boyle turned in an outstanding start, allowing just 1 hit with 1 walk and 12 strikeouts over 5 1/3 scoreless frames to earn the victory for Las Vegas.
