Las Vegas notched a one-run victory to snap its four-game losing streak on Thursday. Designated hitter Greg Deichmann tagged a two-run homer in the top of the 4th inning and then tripled in a run in the 8th for the Aviators. Deichmann currently boasts the team’s best on-base percentage at .470. Third baseman Jacob Wilson drilled a pair of doubles, drew a walk and drove in a run, while center fielder Skye Bolt singled, doubled, walked and scored twice. LHP Jesus Luzardo made the start and tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings, throwing a total of 25 pitches, 17 for strikes, in his first rehab appearance with Las Vegas. RHP Paul Blackburn allowed 2 runs over 4 2/3 frames to earn the win, while RHP Domingo Acevedo picked up the save despite giving up 1 run in the bottom of the 9th for the Aviators. And with Mitch Moreland’s return from the injured list for Oakland, outfielder Luis Barrera was sent back to Las Vegas on Thursday.

Midland managed just three hits to suffer the loss to Frisco on Thursday. Starting pitcher Zac Reininger allowed 1 run in 3 2/3 innings of work to take the loss, while RHP Nick Highberger gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief for the RockHounds. Shortstop Logan Davidson singled and walked twice, while designated hitter Devin Foyle singled, and right fielder Mickey McDonald doubled to account for all the Hounds’ hits in the loss.

The Lugnuts suffered their second straight loss to the Loons on Thursday. Starting pitcher Seth Shuman allowed 1 run in 2 2/3 innings of work, and tandem starter Richard Guasch was charged with 8 unearned runs, thanks to three errors, to take the loss, while infielder Ryan Gridley took the mound to toss a scoreless 9th on Thursday. Left fielder Shane Selman homered in the 3rd inning to provide Lansing’s sole run in the loss.

The Ports prevailed in extra innings to snap their four-game losing streak on Thursday. RHP Jack Cushing, 2019’s 22nd-round draft pick for the A’s, turned in a strong start, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits while striking out 10 over 6 innings of work, and he left the game with a one-run lead. RHP Jose Mora gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to blow the save but ended up being credited with the win after the Ports put a pair of runs on the board in the top of the 10th. Catcher Tyler Soderstrom singled twice, doubled and drove in a pair of runs, including the winning run in the 10th, while first baseman Lawrence Butler singled, tripled, drove in 2 runs and stole a base, and shortstop Robert Puason went 3 for 3 to raise his average to .185.
