Rehabbing LHP Sean Manaea turned in an impressive performance to lead Las Vegas to a two-hit shutout victory on Friday. The former 1st-round draft pick struck out 12 while walking 1 and allowing just 2 hits over 7 scoreless innings to earn the win. The 27-year-old threw 99 pitches, 67 for strikes, and he’s now given up just 3 runs while striking out 28 in 17 2/3 innings over his last 3 rehab starts for the Aviators. RHPs Ben Bracewell and J.B. Wendelken each pitched 1 perfect inning in relief to complete the shutout, with Wendelken securing the save as Las Vegas won its seventh straight on Friday. Center fielder Dustin Fowler slugged a two-run homer, while third baseman Franklin Barreto singled, doubled and scored a run, and he’s now gone 12 for 23 with 6 extra-base hits over his last 6 games for Las Vegas.

First baseman Santis Sanchez singled, doubled twice and drove in a run for the Snappers in the loss.

This year’s top draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Logan Davidson, had a pair of hits, drew a walk and scored a run, while 19-year-old Dominican center fielder Kevin Richards singled twice and scored a run in the loss.
