Las Vegas notched its fourth victory in its last five games on Tuesday to remain tied with El Paso for the division lead. Sheldon Neuse, making his fifth start of the season at second base, singled twice and slugged his 23rd home run to raise his slugging percentage in August to .659 and to give him a total of 144 hits on the season, which is now the most in the Pacific Coast League. Shortstop Franklin Barreto homered for the second straight game, tagging a two-run shot in the top of the 2nd inning to give Las Vegas the lead. Second baseman Corban Joseph was pulled from the game in the 7th inning and is reportedly set to join the A’s on Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Rehabbing A’s LHP Sean Manaea made the start on Tuesday and was solid, allowing just 1 run while striking out 10 over 5 2/3 frames to earn the victory for Las Vegas. RHP Parker Dunshee made his first relief appearance of the season, allowing 1 run over 3 innings of work to secure his 1st save for the Aviators.

The RockHounds suffered the loss in the completion of Monday’s suspended game on Tuesday. RHP Matt Milburn made the start and was charged with 2 unearned runs over 5 frames and left with the game a 2-2 tie. RHP Seth Martinez was solid in relief, throwing 3 scoreless innings, but LHP Zack Erwin allowed 1 unearned run in the bottom of the 11th to take the loss as Amarillo won in a walk-off. Left fielder Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits, including a double, drew a walk and scored a run, while right fielder Taylor Motter singled, doubled and scored a run, and designated hitter Greg Deichmann and center fielder Mickey McDonald each singled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds in the loss.

The RockHounds went down to defeat in Tuesday’s second game to suffer their third straight loss. Starter Kyle Friedrichs was charged with 4 runs over 5 1/3 frames, while LHP Tyler Alexander allowed 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss for Midland. Center fielder Mickey McDonald singled twice and drove in 3 runs, while second baseman Nate Mondou had a pair of hits, including a double, and drew a walk. Right fielder Taylor Motter doubled, walked twice and scored twice, and designated hitter Tyler Ramirez singled, drew a pair of walks and scored a run for the RockHounds in the loss.

Stockton was shut out on just five hits to fall for the fifth time in its last six games on Tuesday. Starter Hogan Harris gave up 3 runs in just 2 2/3 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for Stockton. Center fielder Austin Beck singled and drew a pair of walks for the Ports in the loss.

The Lake Monsters suffered their fourth straight loss on Tuesday. This year’s 22nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Jack Cushing, made the start and was charged with 2 unearned runs in 3 2/3 innings of work to take the loss for the Lake Monsters. Last year’s 6th-round draft pick, left fielder Lawrence Butler, homered, doubled and drew a walk for Vermont in the loss. Meanwhile, last year’s 31st-round pick, RHP Alex Pantuso, was promoted to the Lake Monsters on Tuesday.
