Third baseman Eric Campbell had a big night at the plate by singling twice, slugging his 14th home run and driving in 4 runs for the Aviators. And Campbell has now gone 6 for 9 with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs over his last 2 games for Las Vegas. Designated hitter Sheldon Neuse singled, homered, walked twice and scored twice, while first baseman Seth Brown homered, drew a pair of walks and drove in 3 runs for the Aviators. Starter Paul Blackburn allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work to earn his team-leading 9th victory for Las Vegas. In other news, RHP Ryan Dull was designated for assignment, while outfielder Stephen Piscotty ended his rehab assignment and was activated from the injured list by the A’s, and catcher Beau Taylor and infielder Franklin Barreto were both optioned to Las Vegas.

Three Ports pitchers combined to shut out Lake Elsinore on just four hits on Saturday. 22-year-old Dominican RHP Rafael Kelly turned in a strong start for Stockton, allowing just 3 hits over 5 2/3 scoreless frames, while RHP Michael Danielak threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and RHP Nick Highberger tossed 2 scoreless frames to complete the shutout and pick up his 5th save for the Ports. Shortstop Jeremy Eierman singled and drove in Stockton’s sole run in the win.

Left fielder Lester Madden collected 3 hits and drove in 3 runs, while second baseman Michael Woodworth doubled in the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the 8th inning for the Snappers. Starter Reid Birlingmair allowed 4 runs over 5 frames, while RHP Jaimito Lebron was solid in relief, throwing 3 scoreless innings, and RHP Calvin Coker secured his 2nd save despite giving up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the Snappers.

Vermont notched its fourth victory in its last five games on Saturday. 19-year-old Dominican center fielder Kevin Richards drew a walk and drilled a two-run homer, while 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz slugged a solo shot and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly, and this year’s 4th-round draft pick for the A’s, designated hitter Kyle McCann, tagged a two-run homer for the Lake Monsters. 19-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios made the start and was charged with 1 run in 2 1/3 innings of work, while this year’s 6th-round draft pick, RHP Seth Shuman, threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, and this year’s 17th-round pick, RHP Vince Coletti, pitched 1 perfect inning to pick up the victory for Vermont.
