(7 IP / 6 H / 1 ER / 0 BB / 2 K / Win)

After spending most of the season pitching for Double-A Midland, RHP Corey Walter looked more than ready for Triple-A on Sunday. 2014’s 28th-round draft pick for the A’s allowed just 1 run on 6 hits while throwing a 7-inning complete game to earn his 1st win for the Sounds in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. The game was a 1-1 tie until the bottom of the 7th inning, when third baseman Matt Chapman doubled to lead off the inning and then came in to score the winning run on catcher Ryan Lavarnway‘s RBI single as the Sounds won in a walk-off to split the twinbill. First baseman Matt Olson doubled and walked in the game, and designated hitter Renato Nunez walked and drove in the Sounds’ first run with a sacrifice fly. RHP Paul Blackburn, who’s riding a 13-inning scoreless streak, is set to take the mound on Monday for Nashville.
