The RockHounds shut out the Hooks on just 2 hits on Thursday. RHP Raul Alcantara led the effort by tossing 6 no-hit innings, allowing just 1 walk while striking out 4, before exiting the game after throwing 88 pitches. The 23-year-old righty earned his 2nd win, while RHP Ben Bracewell contributed 3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the save. Thrid baseman Matt Chapman had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs, while first baseman Ryon Healy doubled, tripled and drove in 2, and designated hitter Viosergy Rosa collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair. Meanwhile, Franklin Barreto, making his fourth start at second base, left the game after fouling a ball off his leg in the bottom of the 1st inning. The RockHounds have now won 9 of their last 11 games.

RHP Henderson Alvarez allowed just 1 run over 4 2/3 innings while throwing 77 pitches in his latest rehab start for the Sounds. And A’s general manager David Forst told 95.7 The Game’s Damon Bruce on Thursday that he expected Alvarez to make two more rehab starts and that he could be ready to join the A’s in a couple of weeks. RHP J.B. Wendelken gave up 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning to take the loss on Thursday. Left fielder Max Muncy reached base 4 times for the second straight night, again on a pair of singles and a pair of walks, and his team-best on-base percentage now stands at .410. Shortstop Chad Pinder and designated hitter Andrew Lambo both doubled in the loss. And with third baseman Danny Valencia set to return from the disabled list to the A’s active roster, Tyler Ladendorf was optioned back to Nashville on Thursday.

RHP Kyle Finnegan struck out 5 while pitching 2 1/3 perfect innings in relief for the Ports. Third baseman Jose Brizuela homered in his second straight game and also drew a pair of walks, while left fielder B.J. Boyd singled, doubled and walked in the loss.

Starter Angel Duno turned in another strong outing for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings of work, but LHP Jared Lyons gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss on Thursday. Second baseman Jesus Lopez doubled, tripled and drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly for the Snappers.
