Third Baseman Matt Chapman, who’d only had 4 hits on the season, broke through with a big day at the plate on Sunday, collecting 3 hits – 2 home runs and a double – and driving in 5 runs for the RockHounds. Center fielder Jaycob Brugman had 3 hits, including a 1st inning home run, while shortstop Franklin Barreto hit a 2-run homer in the 8th, and designated hitter Ryon Healy doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to give the Hounds the walk-off win. Starter Dylan Covey allowed 6 runs, just 2 earned, over 4 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Aaron Kurcz picked up the win despite giving up the tying run in the top of the 9th. In other news, RHP Bobby Wahl was reassigned to the RockHounds from the Ports.

Starter Zack Erwin allowed just 1 run in 6 innings of work and left the game with a 2-run lead, but LHP Matt Stalcup gave up 2 runs in the 7th and RHP Ben Bracewell surrendered 3 runs, 2 earned in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss. Outfielder Tyler Marincov smacked a 2-run homer to put the Ports on the board in the 1st. Stalcup was activated from the disabled list before the game and RHP Bobby Wahl was promoted to Midland.

Starter Boomer Biegalski struck out 5 over 5 shutout innings to earn his first professional win for the Snappers, and RHP Xavier Altamirano tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the save and complete the 4-hit shutout on Sunday. Catcher Nick Collins collected a pair of doubles and drove in 3 runs, while first baseman Ryan Howell had 3 hits, including a double, and scored twice in the win.
