RHP Kendall Graveman was impressive in his second start for the Sounds, allowing just 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 5 over 7 shutout innings to earn the win as the Sounds snapped their 6-game losing streak on Wednesday. RHPs Ryan Cook and Angel Castro each contributed 1 scoreless inning in relief for Nashville. Third baseman Ryan Roberts had 2 doubles and drove in a pair, while first baseman Anthony Aliotti doubled in 2 runs, and catcher Bryan Anderson, outfielder Jason Pridie and shortstop Andy Parrino had a pair of hits apiece in the win. In other news, with Coco Crisp’s return to action for the A’s, outfielder Craig Gentry was optioned to Nashville and RHP Kevin Whelan was placed on the disabled list with a right elbow strain.

Outfielder Chad Oberacker led off the game in the top of the 1st with his 3rd home run of the season to briefly provide the RockHounds with their only lead of the night. Second baseman Colin Walsh had a pair of hits and a walk, while Matt Olson, making the start in right field on Wednesday, doubled and scored a run, and catcher Carson Blair singled and walked. RHP Chris Jensen had a shaky start, allowing 4 runs over 4 1/3 innings to take his 2nd loss for the Hounds.

It wasn’t a good night for the Ports’ pitching staff as the team’s hurlers gave up 18 runs on Wednesday. RHP Lou Trivino had his roughest start yet for Stockton, allowing 6 runs over just 3 1/3 innings to take his 1st loss. LHP Matt Stalcup gave up 5 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief in his first appearance of the season for Stockton, while RHP Sam Roberts surrendered 6 runs over 2 frames, and RHP Ben Bracewell allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work to close out the loss. Third baseman Jose Brizuela belted his 1st home run, a 2-run shot, while shortstop Franklin Barreto singled twice and drove in 2. Catcher Beau Taylor and right fielder Tyler Marincov both doubled and walked, and center fielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits for the Ports. In other news, third baseman Matt Chapman announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he was on his way to join Stockton.

RHP Brett Graves had a solid start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work, but he exited with the game a 1-1 tie. RHP Tyler Hollstegge tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief to pick up his 1st win for Beloit, while LHP Jose Torres got the final six outs for his 2nd save. Designated hitter Sandber Pimentel collected 3 hits, including a 2-run homer in the 8th, while second baseman Trent Gilbert doubled and scored the winning run in the 7th, and outfielder Brett Vertigan and shortstop Yairo Munoz drove in a run apiece as the Snappers won their third straight.
