RHP Zane Taylor turned in the best start of his pro career to lead Lansing to victory over Great Lakes on Thursday. Last year’s 5th-round draft pick for the A’s threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits and 4 walks while notching 9 strikeouts to earn the win. Taylor threw 99 pitches, 62 for strikes. He’s now allowed just 1 run over his last 14 1/3 innings, and his 2.75 ERA is good for second-best among qualified pitchers in the Midwest League. RHP Luis Carrasco gave up 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief to secure his 2nd save for Lansing. Left fielder Devin Taylor doubled and drilled a two-run homer, while second baseman Casey Yamauchi singled, walked twice, stole a base and scored a run, and shortstop Ali Camarillo doubled in a pair of runs for the Lugnuts.
