LHP Gage Jump turned in his most solid outing this season to help lead Las Vegas to its second straight victory over Reno on Thursday. The 23-year-old southpaw, who was just ranked baseball’s 41st-best prospect by MLB Pipeline, was sharp, striking out 6 before exiting after throwing 4 scoreless frames. Jump thrived in the strike zone all night, throwing 58 pitches, a whopping 43 of them for strikes. He lowered his ERA to 5.52, and he’s now notched 47 strikeouts in 31 innings of work this season. RHP Yunior Tur allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief to pick up the win, while RHP Elvis Alvarado pitched a perfect 9th to notch the save for Las Vegas. First baseman Joey Meneses singled, doubled twice and drew a walk, while right fielder Jared Dickey singled twice, stole a base and scored a run, and third baseman Brett Harris drew a walk and singled in a pair of runs for the Aviators.
