Saturday, April 6th: Colby Thomas’s Big Bat Helps Hounds Win

The RockHounds pounded out 12 hits, including 3 home runs, and put 7 runs on the board to record their second straight win over the Hooks on Saturday. 23-year-old left fielder Colby Thomas, the A’s 3^rd-round draft pick in 2022, led the way with 4 hits, including a home run, while first baseman Jack Winkler belted a three-run blast to put the team on the board in the top of the 2^nd, and second baseman Cooper Bowman singled in a run and then tagged a two-run shot in the top of the 8^th. Shortstop Jacob Wilson and catcher Daniel Susac collected a pair of hits apiece. Meanwhile, RHP J.T. Ginn turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3 over 5 frames to earn the win. LHP Austin Briggs threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, while RHPs Tyler Baum and Pedro Santos each tossed a scoreless frame to help the Hounds complete the win.
