On a day when all the A’s affiliate went down to defeat, Stockton RHP Wander Guante turned in the most impressive performance among A’s prospects. The 22-year-old Dominican righty allowed just 1 run and struck out 6 through 7 solid innings and left the game with a one-run lead. And Guante has now given up just 1 run in 14 innings over his last pair of starts for the Ports. But RHP Dallas Woolfolk allowed 5 runs, 2 earned, in the bottom of the 8th to suffer the loss on Sunday. Shortstop Bjay Cooke singled, doubled and stole a base, while center fielder Henry Bolte tagged a two-run homer in the top of the 1st to provide all the scoring for the Ports.
