Wednesday, June 7th: Soderstrom & Thomas Lead Vegas to Victory while Cusick Impresses in Midland Loss

Catcher Tyler Soderstrom and left fielder Cody Thomas both hit their team-leading 13^th home runs to help lead Las Vegas to its fifth straight win on Wednesday. Soderstrom singled and scored the tying run in the 5^th inning and then slugged a three-run homer in the 6^th to provide what would prove to be the margin of victory for the Aviators. And the 21-year-old former 1^st-round pick is now 5 for 17 with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs over his last 4 games for Las Vegas. Thomas tagged a two-run homer in the 1^st and also singled and walked in the game, while designated hitter Yohel Pozo singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run for the Aviators. RHP Adrian Martinez gave up 4 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Joe Wieland notched the win after getting the final out in the 4^th. RHP Zach Neal allowed just 1 run over 4 frames in relief, and RHP Rico Garcia pitched a perfect 9^th to pick up the save for the Aviators.
