A key home run courtesy of shortstop Max Muncy helped Lansing win its second straight on Tuesday. The 20-year-old former 1st-round pick came to the plate in the 7th inning with two men on and his team down by two runs and tagged a three-run homer over the right field fence to provide the margin of victory for the Lugnuts. Muncy also drew a walk and came around to score in the top of the 1st, and he’s now tied for the team lead with 22 walks. Center fielder Junior Perez singled, doubled, walked, stole a base and scored 3 runs, and second baseman Mariano Ricciardi collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run in his first game for Lansing. Starter Mitch Myers was charged with 6 runs in just 1 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Luke Anderson allowed 1 run in 2 1/3 innings of relief to record the win for the Lugnuts. In other news, RHP Hunter Breault and catcher Hansen Lopez were placed on the injured list, while catcher Carlos Amaya and Ricciardi were added to the Lansing roster on Tuesday.
