Left fielder Chase Calabuig and first baseman Logan Davidson both had big nights at the plate to help the RockHounds record their fourth win in their last five games on Thursday. Calabuig collected 5 hits, including a pair of doubles, drove in a run and scored 3 times, and the 27-year-old, who’s in his fourth season with Midland, is now batting .324 and has gone 12 for 24 with 5 extra-base hits over his last 6 games for the Hounds. Davidson had 4 hits, including a 3-run homer in the 4th inning, and he’s now gone 10 for 21 with 4 home runs over his last 5 games for Midland. Second baseman Cooper Bowman homered, doubled and drove in 4, while designated hitter Lazaro Armenteros hit a three-run homer and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly. Shortstop Darell Hernaiz had 3 hits, walked and scored twice, and third baseman Brett Harris doubled twice, drew a walk and drove in 3. Starter Jake Walkinshaw allowed 4 runs over 4 1/3 frames, while LHP Francisco Perez tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to register the win for the RockHounds.
