Shortstop Darell Hernaiz punched a pair of home runs to help the RockHounds win their third straight on Tuesday. The 21-year-old hit a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the 3rd inning and then tagged a two-run shot with two outs in the 6th. Hernaiz is now tied for the team lead in home runs while sporting a slugging percentage of .552 and going 12 for 28 with 6 extra-base hits and 13 RBIs over his last 7 games for Midland. Designated hitter Greg Deichmann slugged a solo shot in the 2nd, while catcher Shane McGuire and right fielder Lawrence Butler both belted two-run blasts in the 6th. Third baseman Brett Harris singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored twice, and second baseman Cooper Bowman drew 4 walks, scored twice and swiped a pair of bases to bring his league-leading total to 17. LHP David Leal made the start and allowed 2 runs over 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Trey Supak recorded the win despite giving up 2 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief for the RockHounds. In other news, RHP Grant Holman was reassigned to the RockHounds from the Lugnuts to replace RHP Chase Cohen, who was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
