The Ports prevailed for just the second time at home this season to snap their six-game losing streak on Tuesday. Right fielder Clark Elliott singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and stole a base for Stockton. The 22-year-old, who was the A’s third overall pick in last year’s draft, is now 10 for 27 with 9 walks over his last 8 games and currently leads the Ports in hits (22) and walks (16) while also boasting the team’s best batting average (.306) and on-base percentage (.436). After going 2 for 20 over his first 6 games with Stockton, 19-year-old left fielder Henry Bolte, last year’s 2nd-round pick for the A’s, singled twice, drew a walk and drove in 2 runs, while designated hitter Colby Thomas singled, walked and stole a base, and second baseman Brennan Milone doubled in the tying and winning runs in the 7th inning for Stockton. RHP T.J. Czyz made the start and tossed 2 scoreless frames, while RHP Wander Guante was charged with 5 runs, 3 earned, in 3 innings of work, and LHP Garrett Irvin threw 3 scoreless and hitless innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports. In other news, Stockton outfielder Kevin Richards was placed on the injured list, while catcher Mario Gomez replaced him on the Ports’ active roster, and RHP Micah Dallas was sent back to Stockton after making one appearance for Las Vegas.
