Big days at the plate by designated hitter Denzel Clarke, center fielder Lawrence Butler and shortstop Darell Hernaiz helped power the RockHounds to their fourth straight victory on Tuesday. In his season and Double-A debut after being activated from the injured list, Clarke tagged a two-run homer in the 5th inning to break a 2-2 tie and then belted a three-run blast in the 7th. The A’s 4th-round draft pick in 2021 also walked and scored a run in the 8th and then drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the 9th and came around to score the winning run as the Hounds won in a walk-off. Center fielder Lawrence Butler had 3 hits, walked, stole a base and singled in the tying and winning runs in the 9th, while shortstop Darell Hernaiz contributed 4 hits, including a home run, stole a base, drove in 3 and scored 4 runs for the RockHounds. Starter J.T. Ginn gave up 7 runs, 6 earned, over 5 2/3 frames, while RHP Durbin Feltman, who was recently signed to a minor league deal, allowed 1 run in 1 inning of relief in his Midland debut. RHP Jasseel De La Cruz was charged with 3 runs while getting just one out in the 8th, and RHP Calvin Coker notched the final five outs for the Hounds to pick up the win on Tuesday.
