The RockHounds scored three big runs in the 8th inning and ended up recording a one-run victory to run their winning streak to eight games on Tuesday. Center fielder Jhonny Santos doubled and was left stranded in the 2nd inning but then tagged a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to provide what would prove to be the margin of victory for Midland. The 24-year-old outfielder has now gone 5 for 12 with 4 extra-base hits and 8 RBIs over his last 3 games for the Hounds. First baseman JJ Schwarz had 3 hits, including a double, drew a walk and drove in a run, while shortstop Nick Allen doubled in a pair of runs to tie the game in the 5th. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 2 runs over 5 frames, while LHP Zack Erwin tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief to earn the win, and LHP Aaron Brown picked up the save despite giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th. Meanwhile, infielder Max Schuemann was reassigned to the RockHounds from Lansing on Tuesday.
