The Ports no-hit the Nuts for 7 1/3 innings on Thursday before ultimately suffering their eighth straight loss. Last year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, LHP Hogan Harris, turned in another strong start for Stockton, striking out 4 while throwing 4 scoreless and hitless frames to extend his scoreless streak to 13 innings. LHP Will Gilbert followed Harris on the mound and pitched 2 perfect innings in relief. LHP Ty Damron tossed 2 scoreless innings but allowed the Nuts’ first hit after getting one out in the 8th. The game remained a scoreless tie until the top of the 10th, when first baseman Payton Squier doubled in designated hitter Robert Mullen as Stockton took a one-run lead. But RHP Angel Duno gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as Modesto won in a walk-off. Meanwhile, outfielder Rafael Rincones was added to the Stockton roster, and Brallan Perez was promoted from the Ports to the RockHounds on Thursday.

Las Vegas suffered its third loss in its last four games on Thursday but still managed to maintain a two-game lead over El Paso in the Pacific Southern Division. After being awarded PCL Pitcher of the Week honors after failing to allow an earned run over 11 2/3 innings last week, starter Parker Dunshee surrendered 6 runs in just 2 innings of work to take the loss on Thursday. RHP Jharel Cotton allowed 1 run, on a walk and a double, in 2 innings of relief for Las Vegas. Right fielder Mark Payton singled, doubled and drove in the Aviators’ sole run in the loss. Franklin Barreto went 1 for 4 while making his first career start in left field, and third baseman Edwin Diaz, who was promoted to Las Vegas from Midland to take Sheldon Neuse’s place on the roster, went 0 for 4 in his Triple-A debut. And while infielder Sheldon Neuse was promoted by the A’s on Thursday, LHP Wei-Chung Wang was designated for assignment.

Starter Brian Howard allowed 5 runs over 5 frames to suffer the loss on Thursday, while shortstop Mikey White slugged his 10th home run to provide the sole run for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Midland infielder Edwin Diaz was promoted to Las Vegas, and Brallan Perez was reassigned to the RockHounds from the Ports on Thursday.

The Snappers suffered their fifth straight loss on Thursday. RHP Reid Birlingmair turned in his fifth straight solid start, allowing 2 runs while striking out 7 over 5 2/3 frames, but RHP Charlie Cerny was charged with 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Left fielder Anthony Churlin singled twice, doubled and drove in a run for the Snappers in the loss.

The Lake Monsters suffered the loss in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader. This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Tyler Baum, made the start and allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work, while 23-year-old Cuban LHP Yorlenis Noa threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, but 23-year-old Panamanian LHP Jorge Martinez gave up 5 runs, 4 earned, in the top of the 8th to take the loss. This year’s 11th-round draft pick, first baseman Dustin Harris, singled twice, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Lake Monsters in the loss.

Vermont pulled out a one-run victory over Connecticut in Thursday’s second game to salvage a split of the twinbill. 19-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 hit over 5 scoreless frames, and he left with the game a scoreless tie. 25-year-old Dominican RHP Jeferson Mejia gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in the top of the 8th, but he still managed to pick up the win after Vermont scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th. 19-year-old Dominican center fielder Kevin Richards drew a walk and doubled in the winning run for the Lake Monsters.
