RHP Matt Milburn turned in his second straight outstanding start to lead the RockHounds to a shutout victory on Friday. Milburn tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 4th win, and he’s now failed to allow an earned run over his last 16 2/3 frames for Midland. LHP Cody Stull tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, and RHP Angel Duno got the final four outs for the RockHounds to complete the eight-hit shutout. First baseman Mikey White had 4 hits, including a double, drew a walk, drove in a run and stole a base, while center fielder Luis Barrera tripled, singled twice and stole a base. Designated hitter Tyler Ramirez singled, twice, drew a walk and drove in a run, while second baseman Brallan Perez had 3 hits, and shortstop Kevin Merrell singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds. In other news, seven RockHounds have been named to the Texas League South Division All-Star squad, including outfielders Luis Barrera and Dairon Blanco, RHPs Brian Howard and Kyle Finnegan, catcher Collin Theroux, infielder Mikey White and outfielder Greg Deichmann.

Designated hitter Chris Herrmann homered in the 7th inning to tie the game, while catcher Jonah Heim singled, doubled and drove in a run in the loss.

RHP Mitchell Jordan turned in a strong start to help Stockton win its fourth straight on Friday. Jordan allowed 1 run on just 2 hits while striking out 5 over 6 innings of work to earn his 5th win, while RHP Peter Bayer threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to secure his 2nd save for Stockton. Shortstop Nick Allen had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, to give him a league-best total of 30 extra-base hits, while center fielder Austin Beck singled in a run in his first game since June 1. Meanwhile, Stockton first baseman Hunter Hargrove was released on Friday.

Vermont shut out Tri-City on just two hits in its first game of the season on Friday. 20-year-old Venezuelan RHP Angello Infante served as the opener, pitching a perfect frame in the 1st inning. 23-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado then took over on the mound and was outstanding, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 7 over 4 scoreless frames to earn the victory for Vermont. 21-year-old Panamanian RHP Carlos Sanchez and 24-year-old Dominican RHP Jeferson Mejia each tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to complete the shutout. 19-year-old Dominican center fielder Kevin Richards collected 3 hits, including a double, while second baseman Nick Ward singled, doubled and scored a run. 20-year-old Venezuelan catcher Jose Rivas doubled in 2 runs, and 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz doubled and drove in a pair for the Lake Monsters.
