The RockHounds recorded their third win in their last four games on Friday. RHP Brian Howard turned in another strong start, allowing 2 runs over 7 innings of work to earn his league-leading 5th win for Midland. And the 24-year-old has now given up more than 2 earned runs just once in his last 4 starts. Second baseman Brallan Perez singled, doubled and homered, while catcher Jonah Heim had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in 3, and center fielder Luis Barrera singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

The Aviators were shut out on just three hits to have their four-game winning streak snapped on Friday. Starter Jake Buchanan gave up 1 run over 3 innings of work to suffer the loss, while LHP Kyle Lobstein was almost perfect in relief, allowing just 1 hit while walking none and striking out 4 over 4 frames for Las Vegas. Second baseman Jorge Mateo and center fielder Dustin Fowler both singled, while third baseman Sheldon Neuse doubled for the Aviators’ only extra-base hit in the loss.

The Ports put 13 runs on the board to prevail over Lancaster for the second straight night on Friday. Catcher Jordan Devencenzi collected 4 hits and drove in 3 runs, while third baseman Jonah Bride singled twice, walked twice and drove in a pair. First baseman Alfonso Rivas had 3 hits and a walk, while second baseman Nick Allen singled, doubled, drew a walk and stole a base, and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros tripled in a pair of runs for the Ports. Starter Brady Feigl was charged with 6 runs, just 2 earned, over 4 2/3 frames, while RHP Peter Bayer tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports.

The Snappers suffered a one-run loss to Cedar Rapids on Friday. Starter Chase Cohen allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work, while RHP Michael Murray was charged with 3 runs, 2 earned, in 1 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Center fielder Lester Madden singled, doubled, drove in a pair and stole a base, and Madden is now 7 for 16 over his last 4 games for the Snappers.
