Second Baseman Corban Joseph

Las Vegas squandered an early six-run lead and suffered a late-inning loss to Tacoma on Tuesday. But second baseman Corban Joseph had another big day at the plate, collecting 3 hits, including a home run and a double, for the Aviators. The 30-year-old infielder now leads the team with 11 doubles and a .387 batting average, which ties him for second in the Pacific Coast League batting race. Joseph has now gone 24 for 48 in 12 games in May to give him an average of .500 for the month. Shortstop Jorge Mateo smacked a three-run homer, while right fielder Dustin Fowler had 3 hits and a walk. Center fielder Skye Bolt singled twice, walked and stole a base, while third baseman Sheldon Neuse had a pair of hits, including an RBI double, and designated hitter Nick Martini went 1 for 2, drew a walk and drove in a run in his fifth rehab game with the Aviators. Starter Jake Buchanan gave up 5 runs over 5 frames, while RHP J.B. Wendelken allowed 1 run and struck out 4 in 2 innings of relief in his first appearance since being sent to Las Vegas, and RHP Ben Bracewell surrendered 2 runs in the top of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss for Las Vegas.

RHP James Naile endured a rocky start for the RockHounds, allowing 9 runs, 6 earned, over 4 1/3 frames to take his 4th loss on Tuesday. Center fielder Luis Barrera tripled, doubled, drove in a pair of runs and threw out a runner at second base, while catcher Jonah Heim had 3 hits, and shortstop Kevin Merrell singled, doubled and scored a run for the RockHounds in the loss.

Stockton suffered its seventh loss in its last eight games on Tuesday. Things got off to a rough start for 23-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado, who allowed 4 runs in just 1 inning of work to take the loss in his first start for Stockton. LHP Pat Krall gave up 5 runs in 2 innings of relief, and first baseman Hunter Hargrove pitched a scoreless 9th for the Ports. Center fielder Jameson Hannah singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and stole a base, while shortstop Nick Allen collected a pair of hits and a walk, and third baseman Trace Loehr drew a walk and singled in a run for Stockton. In other news, RHP Jharel Cotton is expected to make his first rehab appearance with the Ports on Friday, and RHP James Kaprielian is set to make his first start for Stockton on Saturday, weather permitting.

Beloit came back to beat Peoria in 11 innings on Tuesday. Designated hitter John Jones singled, homered and walked twice, while center fielder Lester Madden singled and drew a pair of walks, including a bases-loaded walk in the 8th to bring in the tying run for Beloit. Left fielder Anthony Churlin collected 3 hits, including an RBI double, and first baseman Payton Squier singled, doubled and drove in a pair for Beloit. RHP Chase Cohen suffered through his fourth straight shaky start for the Snappers, surrendering 5 runs over 4 frames, while RHP Wandisson Charles threw 3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Charlie Cerny tossed a scoreless 10th and 11th to secure the win on Tuesday.
