The Snappers secured their second straight victory over Peoria on Sunday to run their winning streak to three. Left fielder Chase Calabuig singled, walked and homered to raise his on-base percentage on the season to an even .500. Second baseman Ryan Gridley hit a two-run homer, while third baseman Cobie Vance singled, doubled, drove in a run and stole a base for Beloit. Last year’s 21st-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Daniel Martinez, turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run over 5 2/3 frames to earn the win, while last year’s 22nd-round pick, RHP Aiden McIntyre, secured the save despite surrendering 2 runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief for the Snappers. The Aviators had their three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday. Center fielder Dustin Fowler reached base 4 times, singling twice and walking twice, to raise his on-base percentage on the season to a robust .571. Shortstop Franklin Barreto singled and doubled twice, while left fielder Mark Payton homered for the third straight day and also singled in the game. First baseman Seth Brown belted a two-run homer, and third baseman Eric Campbell singled, doubled and drove in a pair. Starter Tyler Alexander tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings, while his tandem-pitching partner, LHP Kyle Lobstein, was charged with 4 runs over 3 innings of work, and LHP Dean Kiekhefer gave up another 4 runs in just 1/3 of an inning to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. Stockton suffered its third straight loss on Sunday. Starter Wyatt Marks surrendered 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work to take the loss. Stockton hitters were held to just 5 hits on Sunday. Second baseman Trace Loehr walked and singled in a run, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman singled and drove in a run, and first baseman Alfonso Rivas drew 3 walks for Stockton in the loss.
