The Sounds exploded for 11 runs to win their third straight on Tuesday. Shortstop Jorge Mateo had one of his best games of the season, collecting 4 hits, including a pair of triples, while driving in 3 runs and scoring 3 times, and the 23-year-old is now 7 for 16 over his last 4 games for the Sounds. Right fielder Ramon Laureano also had a big night at the plate, contributing a home run, a double and a pair of singles while driving in 3. Designated hitter Anthony Garcia drew a pair of walks, hit his team-leading 19th home run and also drove in 3, while center fielder Boog Powell went 1 fo 4 with a walk as he begins his second rehab stint this season with the Sounds. Starter Chris Bassitt allowed 4 runs over 7 frames to notch his 3rd win for Nashville.

RHP Parker Dunshee turned in an outstanding start on Tuesday, allowing just 4 hits while throwing 6 shutout innings to earn his 2nd win for Midland. RHP Kyle Finnegan tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to register his 5th save for the RockHounds. Left fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, walked, homered and drove in 3 runs, while right fielder J.P. Sportman ripped a three-run homer and tallied his team-leading 16th stolen base in his return to the team from Nashville. Center fielder Luis Barrera collected 3 hits and stole a base, and second baseman Eli White doubled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Midland outfielder Tyler Marincov landed on the disabled list on Tuesday.

Stockton lost in a walk-off to fall for the fourth time in its last five games on Tuesday. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 4 runs over 5 frames, while LHP Will Gilbert pitched 3 perfect innings in relief and left with the game a 4-4 tie. But RHP Angel Duno gave up the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss as Modesto won in a walk-off. Left fielder Luke Persico singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Ports in the loss.

The Lake Monsters lost their fourth straight on Tuesday. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Jose Mora made the start and allowed 3 runs, 1 earned, over 4 1/3 frames, while 20-year-old Venezuelan RHP Oscar Tovar gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief, and last year’s 24th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Slater Lee, surrendered 4 runs, 3 earned, in the top of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss for the Lake Monsters. This year’s 23rd-round draft pick for the A’s, third baseman Jonah Bride, walked and homered, while this year’s third overall pick for the A’s, shortstop Jeremy Eierman, singled, doubled and drove in a run. 4th-round first baseman Alfonso Rivas drew a walk and doubled in a run, and 17th-round center fielder Devin Foyle singled twice and swiped a pair of bases for the Lake Monsters in the loss. In other news, Stephen Piscotty‘s brother, outfielder Austin Piscotty, who was drafted in the 38th round this year and was on Vermont’s roster, retired on Tuesday.

20-year-old Dominican RHP Richard Morban turned in a solid start on Tuesday, allowing just 1 run over 5 frames to earn his 2nd win for the AZL A’s. 17-year-old Colombian designated hitter Jordan Diaz singled, doubled and drove in 3 runs, while this year’s 8th-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher JJ Schwarz, doubled twice and drove in 2 runs, and this year’s 34th-round pick, shortstop Nick Ward, drew a walk and tripled in a pair for the A’s.
