(6 IP / 3 H / 0 ER / 1 BB / 10 K / Win)

LHP Jesus Luzardo turned in one of his best starts of the season to help the RockHounds snap their five-game losing streak on Monday. The 20-year-old went more than 5 innings for the first time this season, throwing 6 scoreless frames while striking out 10 to tie a career high. Luzardo has been on a real roll for the RockHounds, and the southpaw has now failed to allow an earned run over his last 28 innings of work for Midland. RHPs Miguel Romero and Nolan Blackwood each tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, while RHP Kyle Finnegan notched the final three outs in the 9th to complete the five-hit shutout and register his 1st save for the RockHounds. Second baseman Eli White continued his hot hitting for the Hounds, collecting a single, a double and a triple to raise his team-leading average to .328, which is good for third best in the Texas League. Third baseman J.P. Sportman singled, doubled and drove in 3 runs for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Midland catcher Sean Murphy landed on the disabled list on Monday and catcher Jason Goldstein was promoted from the Ports to take his place on the RockHounds roster.
