Left fielder Tyler Ramirez led the RockHounds to their third win in their last four games on Wednesday. With two outs, two men on and the game tied in the top of the 5th inning, Ramirez stepped to the plate and slugged a three-run homer to provide the margin of victory for Midland. Ramirez also walked with the bases loaded to bring in another run in the 6th and singled but was left stranded in the 4th. Right fielder Tyler Marincov tagged his team-leading 14th home run, a two-run shot, in the 6th, and designated hitter Brett Siddall singled twice and walked twice for Midland. RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs over 5 frames to record his 6th win for the RockHounds.

The Sounds suffered their third loss in their last four games on Wednesday. Starter Eric Jokisch surrendered 5 runs, 4 earned, over 4 2/3 frames to take the loss. Center fielder Ramon Laureano collected 2 hits, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the 1st inning that accounted for all the Sounds’ scoring on the night, while left fielder Brett Vertigan had 3 hits, and first baseman Nick Martini singled to extend his on-base streak to 64 games on Wednesday.

Starter Xavier Altamirano picked up the win despite giving up 5 runs over 5 1/3 frames for the Ports.

Second baseman Ryan Gridley drew a walk and singled in a run, and designated hitter Mickey McDonald singled in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run in the 7th for the Snappers. This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, center fielder Jameson Hannah, homered to tie the game in the top of the 6th inning, while this year’s 17th-round pick, left fielder Devin Foyle, had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair. 33rd-round pick, designated hitter Joseph Pena, walked twice and singled in a run, and shortstop Jeremy Eierman singled in the winning run in the top of the 9th for the Lake Monsters. Last year’s 20th-round draft pick for the A’s, 18-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios, turned in a strong start on Wednesday. Berrios allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 6 innings of work to earn the win, while 21-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Monserratt got the final five outs for the A’s to pick up the save. This year’s 34th-round draft pick for the A’s, second baseman Nick Ward, collected 3 hits, including a triple, and drove in 2 runs, while this year’s 27th-round pick, center fielder Chase Calabuig, singled twice and drove in a run, and 17-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz doubled in a pair for the A’s.
