For the second night in a row, a Snappers starter allowed just 1 hit while throwing 5 shutout innings for Beloit. On Monday, it was Xavier Altamirano, and on Tuesday, it was LHP Jared Poche’s turn. The 23-year-old southpaw, who was the A’s 9th-round draft pick last year, struck out 5 and walked just 1 over 5 scoreless frames, but he left with the game a scoreless tie on Tuesday. RHP Jesus Zambrano took over for Poche and gave up 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief to put Beloit in a hole. But shortstop Nick Allen tripled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game and then came around to score the winning run on right fielder Mickey McDonald‘s RBI single. Center fielder Austin Beck had a pair of singles to raise his average to .296, while Zambrano picked up the win for Beloit, and LHP Josh Reagan got the final four outs for the Snappers to secure his 2nd save. Meanwhile, Beloit RHP Dakota Chalmers was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday and RHP Mitchell Jordan joined the Snappers from extended spring training.
