Though he pitched well, Stockton starter Parker Dunshee finally saw his scoreless-innings streak come to an end on Wednesday. Entering the game, last year’s 7th-round draft pick for the A’s had thrown 48 1/3 scoreless frames dating back to last June. He managed to keep Modesto off the board in the bottom on the 1st inning to run the streak to 49 1/3 before finally surrendering a run in the 2nd. On the night, Dunshee allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, while striking out 7 over 6 innings of work to raise his ERA on the season to 1.13. RHP Boomer Biegalski tossed 2 scoreless frames in relief, but RHP Sam Sheehan surrendered 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss as Modesto won in a walk-off on Wednesday. Right fielder Eric Marinez had a big night at the plate for the Ports, collecting 4 hits, including a triple, while driving in a run and stealing a base for Stockton. Shortstop Kevin Merrell, second baseman Nate Mondou and left fielder Dairon Blanco each drove in a run and had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.
