(October 11 – 15)
Tuesday, October 11th:
Second baseman Max Schrock went 1 for 4 and drove in a run, while third baseman Yairo Munoz went 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts, and RHP Trey Cochran-Gill tossed 2/3 of an inning of scoreless relief as Mesa lost its inaugural game of the season by a score of 11-2 on Tuesday.
Wednesday, October 12th:
Shortstop Franklin Barreto went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts and made a throwing error, while third baseman Yairo Munoz went 0 for 4, and RHP Sam Bragg allowed 1 run and struck out 5 in 2 innings of relief in Mesa’s 7-1 loss on Wednesday.
Thursday, October 13th:
Second baseman Max Schrock went 0 for 4 and made a throwing error as Mesa notched its first win of the season by a score of 7-5 on Thursday.
Friday, October 14th:
Shortstop Franklin Barreto went 2 for 5, drove in 2 runs, scored twice and made a fielding error, while third baseman Yairo Munoz went 0 for 3 with a walk. Starting pitcher Dylan Covey allowed 2 runs and struck out 5 over 4 innings to earn the win, RHP Frankie Montas threw 3 scoreless innings while hitting over 100 mph with his fastball, and RHP Trey Cochran-Gill allowed 2 runs in 1 inning as Mesa won 10-4 on Friday.
Saturday, October 15th:
Second baseman Max Schrock went 2 for 3 with a walk and drove in a run, while third baseman Yairo Munoz went 2 for 3 with a walk, and shortstop Franklin Barreto went 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts in Mesa’s 12-2 loss on Saturday.
Sunday, October 16th:
