A 10-run 2nd inning helped the RockHounds win their sixth straight on Thursday. Left fielder Tyler Ramirez continued his hot hitting for the Hounds and reached base 4 times in the victory. The 26-year-old doubled twice, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a run, and he’s now hitting .355 with an on-base percentage of .512 over his last 9 games for Midland. Catcher Kyle McCann hit a two-run homer and walked twice, while shortstop Logan Davidson and right fielder Devin Foyle had 3 hits apiece and each scored twice. Designated hitter Jonah Bride singled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run, and third baseman Jeremy Eierman singled, doubled and drove in 3 runs for the RockHounds. Starter Brady Feigl allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 frames to earn the win for Midland.

Las Vegas suffered its second straight walk-off loss on Thursday. RHP Daulton Jefferies delivered another solid start, allowing just 1 run over 5 1/3 frames for the Aviators. But with the game tied in the bottom of the 9th, RHP Jordan Weems walked a batter who advanced to third after a wild pitch followed by a groundout. LHP A.J. Puk then took over on the mound and uncorked a wild pitch to allow the winning run to score. Shortstop Pete Kozma singled and drew 3 walks, while designated hitter Austin Allen singled and doubled, and center fielder Luis Barrera singled in the Aviators’ sole run in the loss.

Lansing suffered a one-run loss to drop its second straight to South Bend on Thursday. 23-year-old Cuban RHP Richard Guasch turned in another strong start, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 8 over 6 shutout innings, and he’s now given up just 1 earned run in 20 1/3 innings of work this season. But RHP Brock Whittlesey was charged with 3 runs in just 1/3 of an inning in his first appearance since being promoted from the Ports, and RHP Jack Weisenburger gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th to take the loss for Lansing. First baseman Patrick McColl doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run, while left fielder Jake Suddleson singled, walked and scored a run. Center fielder Shane Selman singled twice, and third baseman Ryan Gridley had a two-run double and stole a base in the loss.

The Ports posted their second straight one-run victory over the Storm on Thursday to win their fourth straight. Catcher Tyler Soderstrom drew a pair of walks and homered for the second straight night in the bottom of the 6th to put Stockton on the board and raise his team-leading RBI total to 17 and his OPS to .926. And Soderstrom is now 5 for 14 with 4 walks, 5 extra-base hits and 7 RBIs over his last 4 games for the Ports. Center fielder Kevin Richards singled, doubled and drew a walk, while second baseman Joshwan Wright singled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and first baseman Lawrence Butler drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly in the 8th and then walked with the bases loaded to bring home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th. Starter Jack Cushing allowed 2 runs in 5 2/3 frames, and RHP Jose Mora tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports.
