The Ports put double digits on the board to take their second straight from Lake Elsinore on Sunday. Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and out in the bottom of the 2nd inning and slugged a grand slam to give Stockton a six-run lead, which would prove to be insurmountable for Lake Elsinore on Sunday. And Armenteros now leads the team with 16 home runs on the season. First baseman Alfonso Rivas and third baseman Jonah Bride each had 3 hits, including a home run, and drove in a pair of runs apiece, while designated hitter Robert Mullen singled, walked and homered, and catcher Matt Cross hit his 1st home run since being promoted to the Ports from the Arizona League. A’s RHP Marco Estrada made the start and allowed 3 hits and 4 runs, 3 earned, on a grand slam, in 2 innings of work in his second rehab appearance for Stockton. LHP Will Gilbert pitched 1 perfect inning in relief to pick up the win for the Ports. Meanwhile, catcher Jordan Devencenzi and infielder Trace Loehr were both reassigned to Stockton from Las Vegas on Sunday.

Las Vegas suffered a one-run loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday. Starter Daniel Mengden gave up 4 runs in 3 innings of work to take the loss. Center fielder Dustin Fowler singled, tripled, walked and scored twice, while first baseman Eric Campbell had a pair of hits, drew a walk and scored a run, and catcher Cameron Rupp homered for Las Vegas in the loss. Meanwhile, catcher Jordan Devencenzi and infielder Trace Loehr were both sent back to Stockton from Las Vegas on Sunday.

The RockHounds suffered their second straight loss to Corpus Christi on Sunday. Starter Grant Holmes surrendered 7 runs, 6 earned, in just 2 2/3 innings of work to take the loss. Catcher Collin Theroux homered for the second straight game and also singled, while third baseman Mikey White doubled in a pair of runs for the RockHounds in the loss.

Beloit bested Clinton by a single run for the second straight game on Sunday. Right fielder Anthony Churlin singled and scored a run in the 7th inning and then hit a two-run homer in the top of the 8th to bring home the tying and winning runs for Beloit. Center fielder Devin Foyle hit his 6th home run in the 4th inning to tie him with John Jones for the team lead. Starter Chase Cohen was charged with 4 unearned runs over 4 1/3 frames, while 20-year-old Venezuelan RHP Angello Infante was solid in relief, throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win, and RHP Charlie Cerny tossed a scoreless 9th to secure his 7th save for the Snappers.

Vermont notched its fifth victory in its last six games on Sunday. Right fielder Shane Selman singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in the winning run in the top of the 8th, while second baseman Marty Bechina had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, and designated hitter Kyle McCann singled, doubled and drove in 3. Starter Michael Murray allowed 1 run over 4 frames, while 21-year-old Panamanian RHP Carlos Sanchez tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Jeferson Mejia struck out the side in order in the 9th to notch the save for the Lake Monsters.
