On a day that saw all the A’s affiliates go down to defeat, RHP Parker Dunshee struggled through his second straight shaky start for the Aviators. The 24-year-old allowed 8 runs, 5 earned, over 5 2/3 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for Las Vegas. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse singled, walked and slugged his 7th home run, which already gives him two more than he had all of last season. Left fielder Mark Payton singled and walked twice, while first baseman Eric Campbell and designated hitter Nick Martini each singled in a run in the loss. Meanwhile, the A’s designated RHP Fernando Rodney for assignment and promoted Las Vegas LHP Wei-Chung Wang to Oakland on Saturday.

Second Baseman Mikey White

The RockHounds squandered a six-run lead and wound up suffering a one-run loss to fall for the fifth straight time on Saturday. Midland put six runs on the board in the top of the 5th inning. Second baseman Mikey White doubled twice and drove in a pair, while center fielder Dairon Blanco collected 4 hits in the game. Third baseman Edwin Diaz had 3 hits and drove in a run, and catcher Jonah Heim singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. Starter Brian Howard carried a no-hitter through the first 5 innings but was charged with 5 runs in the 6th and exited with the trainer before registering an out in the inning. A fielding error by shortstop Kevin Merrell led to an unearned run off RHP Trey McNutt in the 7th to tie the game, and a throwing error by left fielder Chase Calabuig led to another unearned run off LHP Cody Stull in the 8th to provide the winning run for Amarillo as Stull was tagged with the loss on Saturday.

RHP Mitchell Jordan turned in a solid start on Saturday, allowing 2 runs over 5 frames, but he ended up suffering his 4th loss for Stockton. Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros tripled, doubled and drove in Stockton’s sole run, while right fielder Mickey McDonald had a pair of hits, including a double, and catcher Robert Mullen doubled in the loss.

Prospect Of The Game:

Right Fielder Max Schuemann

(2 for 4 / RBI / Outfield Assist)

 

The Snappers suffered their third straight loss on Saturday. RHP Michael Murray struggled through a rough start and ended up being charged with 7 runs on 8 hits in just 1 1/3 innings to take the loss. Right fielder Max Schuemann singled twice and drove in the Snappers’ sole run, while second baseman Joseph Pena doubled and was hit by a pitch in the loss.
