The RockHounds exploded for 14 runs on 23 hits to notch their ninth win in their last ten games on Saturday. First baseman Seth Brown led the way with 4 hits, including a pair of doubles to lift his league-leading total to 38, and he also drove in 4 runs to raise his team-best RBI total to 90. Shortstop Richie Martin collected 4 hits, including a triple, and drove in a run, while second baseman J.P. Sportman also had 4 hits, including a double, and drove in 3, and center fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, doubled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Norge Ruiz allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 7 frames to earn his 5th win for Midland.

The Sounds suffered their third loss in their last four games on Saturday. Starter Raul Alcantara surrendered 4 runs over 5 frames to take the loss. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Ismael Aquino and this year’s 15th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Calvin Coker, both made their Triple-A debuts on Saturday. Aquino gave up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, while Coker allowed 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings for the Sounds. Designated hitter Anthony Garcia homered for the second straight night, tagging his team-leading 25th home run to provide the Sounds’ sole run in the loss. In other news, Nashville catcher Bruce Maxwell was designated for assignment, and infielder Franklin Barreto, catcher Beau Taylor and pitchers Chris Hatcher, Liam Hendriks, Danny Coulombe and Dean Kiekhefer were all added to the A’s roster on Saturday.

Stockton secured its sixth win in its last seven games on Saturday. RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in his third straight quality start for Stockton, allowing just 1 run over 6 1/3 innings, but he left the game with his team down by a run. Right fielder Greg Deichmann homered in the 8th to tie the game, and first baseman Viosergy Rosa singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th as Stockton won in a walk-off. RHP Angel Duno tossed a scoreless frame in the top of the 10th to pick up his 5th win for the Ports.

Starter Jean Ruiz gave up 4 runs over 5 frames to take his 12th loss for the Snappers on Saturday. First baseman Hunter Hargrove had 2 hits, including a double, drew a walk and scored a run, while center fielder Austin Beck singled twice for the Snappers in the loss. In other news, LHP Jhenderson Hurtado was activated from the disabled list while LHP Ivan Andueza landed on the DL on Saturday.

20-year-old Dominican RHP Jose Mora allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 5 2/3 frames to suffer his 5th loss for the Lake Monsters on Saturday. This year’s 17th-round draft pick for the A’s, center fielder Devin Foyle, tripled, doubled and scored twice, while right fielder Nick Osborne singled, doubled and walked, and second baseman Marcos Brito drew a walk and doubled in a run for the Lake Monsters in the loss.

  1. Will Anthony Garcia ever get a chance at the 40 man. I guess he is pure bat. Maybe he is the Athletics back up plan when Khrush becomes to expensive..lol kidding
