Beloit held Clinton to one run on just four hits as the Snappers snapped their three-game losing streak on Thursday. This year’s 5th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brady Feigl, made the start and tossed 2 scoreless frames. RHP Jean Ruiz then came on and threw 6 shutout innings to earn his 5th win for Beloit. And after compiling a 5.92 ERA in the first half, the 21-year-old has put up an impressive 1.74 ERA over 51 2/3 frames in the second half. Third baseman Miguel Mercedes singled, homered and drove in 3 runs, while first baseman Hunter Hargrove singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Center fielder Austin Beck singled twice, scored twice, stole a base and drove in a run, and shortstop Nick Allen doubled in a run, drew a walk and tallied his team-leading 23rd stolen base for the Snappers. Meanwhile, Beloit infielder Jesus Lage landed on the disabled list and LHP Ty Damron was reassigned to the Snappers from Stockton on Wednesday.

Starter Chris Bassitt allowed 1 run over 4 1/3 frames, while RHP Raul Alcantara gave up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief to suffer the loss for the Sounds. Left fielder BJ Boyd collected 3 hits, while right fielder Boog Powell singled twice and scored a run, and second baseman Franklin Barreto singled and drove in the Sounds’ sole run with a sacrifice fly in the 1st inning. Stockton won its third straight on Wednesday. Right fielder Greg Deichmann singled and hit a three-run homer to briefly give his team the lead in the 4th inning, while first baseman Viosergy Rosa singled, doubled and scored a run for Stockton. Second baseman Cobie Vance had 2 hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the 6th, and center fielder Chase Calabuig singled twice and drove in a pair for the Ports. Starter Evan Manarino allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 frames to earn his 4th win, while RHP Angel Duno pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his team-leading 15th save for Stockton. But this year’s 16th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Bryce Nightengale, was outstanding in relief, throwing 3 hitless and scoreless innings for Vermont. This year’s 8th-round pick, catcher JJ Schwarz, collected a triple, while 17th-round left fielder Devin Foyle drew a walk and singled in the Lake Monsters’ sole run in the loss.

This year’s 32nd-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher John Jones, singled twice, stole a base, drew a walk and doubled in the winning run in the top of the 10th, while 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz had 3 hits and a walk, and this year’s 30th-round pick, first baseman Gio Dingcong, tagged his team-leading 4th home run, a two-run shot in the 8th. 22nd-round RHP Aiden McIntyre turned in a solid start, striking out 4 over 3 scoreless frames, while 22-year-old Panamanian LHP Jorge Martinez allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to earn the win, and 15th-round RHP Calvin Coker tossed a scoreless frame in the bottom of the 10th to post his 2nd save for the A’s.
